Companies are laying people off in mass. Just ask Twitter and other tech giants how many people they plan on laying off. Also, many companies are closing because there isn't as much demand for their products as there once was due to the lack of liquid assets and free cash flow due to inflation.
People are spending more because everything costs more.
Many people are stocking up for a perceived famine that is probably just around the corner, but that move will soon end....and the contraction we are experiencing now is a drop in the bucket compared to what Congress is trying to set up with their inflation reduction act.

Our inflation and declining economy is caused by current administration policies. Period. This problem started long before Russia invaded Ukraine.

If the administration would allow it, we could flood the market with oil and bring the price down to $1.00 a gallon.

We could also feed the rest of the world.
