Well you are communicating on a designed system called the Internet. It was a project by DARPA which is that horrible Federal Government you seem to detest. So stop typing now and shun the Internet which is a Federal Creation.

You will have to travel place to place to talk to people since the Mail is a Federally managed system. But you should eschew those US and Interstate Highways.

When you go to the Grocery store ignore the stuff on the shelf. The Department of Transportation standardized Truck weight limits and size restrictions which just about ended the hodgepodge of state and local laws that made long range transportation by road difficult to say the least.

Don't fly. The same Department of Transportation manages Air Traffic Control and pilot requirements. The airplane safety is another set of standards. Investigation into aircraft accidents to determine the cause and make every effort to keep it from happening again is another DOT thing. Damn those Feds.

Sit back and don't drink water. Water safety standards are a federal law. Fuckwads.

Most people enjoy breathing. But clean air standards are another Federal thing.

Ever survived an auto accident? Chances are it was because of federal regulations on safety that helped out.

I could go on. But why bother? Does the government do good? Yes. Does it do things badly? Yes. That is where the voters are supposed to come in. But they don't. Republicans and Democrats are just the same. They won't vote for the other party no matter what. They keep sending the same do nothing dolts back to Washington where they continue to do nothing. We used to comprise and accomplish things, not perfectly but better. Yet we can't do that anymore because compromise is denounced as trading with the enemy by both sides.

Like Velcro? Developed for the space program. A lot was learned and a ton of new developments were all paid for by the damned Feds.

Things that are used by you everyday. Was some of it stupid? Yes. A million dollars to develop a pen that could write in space comes to mind. A pencil would have cost ten cents. But a lot of good things came too. Satellite views of earth to predict weather and watch for launches of nuclear missiles. GPS to guide you to your next anti government rally.

Some is good. Some is bad. Some is abused. Some is ignored. But you have to vote the bums out. Georgia is going to the polls tomorrow. Will they send the best choice or the party they prefer? I'm betting on Party over principle. Everyone else votes that way.

Most of you can't name one thing your Congress critter voted for or against. You probably can't name them without looking it up. Who is your state rep or senator?

So Government is broken. What are you doing besides bitching about all of it instead of the specifics you don't like?

Actually, Soc Sec is bankrupt because we allowed Congress to steal surpluses from working poor for 40 years and now the Treasury is floating NEW DEBT to cover the theft from the same victims. Most EVERYTHING you mentioned (except the US mail which they CLAIM isn't US anymore) has been poorly implemented, managed and for the most part UNDIRECTED by Congress for decades. When was the last big Anti-Trust case? The Feds have BY DESIGN forced MASSIVE consolidation in the Banking Industry and NOW they want to solve that.

Which is a LOT of what they do. Solving problems that THEY created. Or ignoring problems until they BECOME crises..

Congress told us they were only "borrowing" the SS surplus money, I always wondered how they planned to pay it back...increase taxes and collect the money a 2nd time?
