I can give you a slew of reasons that other countries laugh at us, had many dinners with Europeans over the subject. Most other countries see us as a joke, because unlike our government everything is measured in military might. We have allowed our Education to drop through the floor, to stupid not to buy Chinese products, are OK with a huge percentage of our money going for defense, etc..etc..etc...

Europeans laugh at Americans because they like to pretend they have it better.
Reality is they want everything that America has, but are too lazy, stupid and dependent to go get it.
So they mock.

10 years living here.
Visited frequently since 1977 ( my mother, grandmother and most of her siblings were Americans).
I arrived in 2003.
I saw superior healthcare when injured at work.
I noted that it was slightly more expensive than elsewhere, but more accessible, and without long delays.
Taxation is less burdensome.
Opportunities are plentiful.
Income independence is achievable with ease.
Wealth is the norm. Standard of living far higher.
Comparing the USA with lesser countries?
USA wins hands down.
