Just curious had a job offer paying me a lot more money but turned them down.

I love respect, starting a New job you have to start all over.

The challenge, the people you work with, the team work, watching the progress, making work as much fun as possible for those who work with you, the satisfaction at the end of the day, being a part of the growth and expansion, teaching others, team building, teaching good work habits, and accomplishing goals that others thought were impossible.

I think the answer to that does not remain the same throughout your life.
From 2005 - 2013 I operated a printing company. A real printing company, not the tiny little copy shops.
I made into the 6 figures all those years but my life absolutely revolved around the company.
When the corporation sold the company Jan. 2014, I had multiple offers paying equally well.
After a lot of thinking, and realizing I am on solid financial ground...I opted out of the rat-race.
I only make about $65k doing what I do now...but it's great. The stress levels are half what they use to be, the company is privately owned which is glorious.
Though I make less than a 1/3 what I did before, I can honestly say I am happier now.

I need the bare minimum in $ and benefits to live, so, assume THAT... I said

RESPECT

I want to feel valued and important. That's more important than any of the others because then, I will feel confident in what I do and will like those around me if I am respected.

The ability to keep me busy. Being bored at work sucks.

Have to like the job and the people. Working at a place where you are miserable all day also sucks.

That's pretty much it.

At my age these are the things important to me

1. A job that is ONGOING/STABLE

2. A job that gives daily cola raises to keep pace rent increases

3. a job that has good health insurance

4. a job that allows control the flow of my day

5. a job that keeps me busy and fast pace
