I've seen and experienced great things in countries that are more geared to socialism. The happiest rated countries in the world are all highly socialistic countries. Why can't we do what we already know that works?
Sure, it works with an Amish commune but not so much in Greece in the EU
So, Greece is one of over 30 ode nations. Funny you should pick the crazy one to make a generalized point, eh??
There are over 30 advanced nations in the world in odec. All of the nations one would think of as "advanced". All are more socialized than the US. All have universal health care for all, though the citizens of the us pay more than any other of the other nations. And those that attempt to rate and rank happiness find that the people of the us are less happy than those of many of those nations.
No one I know suggests any country should go fully socialistic, that would be your standard knuckle-draggers straw horse. But personally, I want a private company making my TV, but my gov making my nat'l parks and running my health care.
