For me it's all quite simple and I don't have the luxury of hating people for what they think about all this.

Smog and pollution are bad, and nobody disputes that. They just argue about whether or not it'll destroy us.

If non polluting energy sources become cost effective, I'm sure nobody will oppose them, including the fossil fuels industry that will likely make that shift into those sources, and continue to be profitable.

I agree...let demand and free market forces determine the pace of development...not what feels good.
