When the government asks why you should own an AR-15, here is the primary reason. 2nd amendment right.

Self-defense was the most popular reason for owning an AR-15. Other popular answers included recreation, target shooting and hunting, while some pointed to owning an AR-15 as their Second Amendment right.

Why do Americans own AR-15s? - The Washington Post

This is the left leaning Washington Post, admitting that without the government infringing on the right of American Citizens to exercise their 2nd amendments, it also keeps in check governments like Mexico, China or Russia, from ever trying to do to US what has happened to other countries. But the real issue, is that it keeps our own government from taking our other rights away in their attempt to turn this country into a 3rd world Socialist Utopia, like Venezuela or Cuba.

So the reason someone should do something is because they can?

What a brilliant thread.

Why is it their business and why do they expect a justification? As Tim Walz said, "Mind your own damn business!"

Exactly what I was thinking. Do I need to justify any of my other Constitutional rights as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights?

I should own an AR15 because the government tells me I don't need one.

Good point.
