Bullshit, that's not how grand juries are impaneled. They are impaneled by the district court to serve for a specific period of time, randomly selected from the voter list for the area.

They don't know what cases they are going to be presented with, there is no judge present, defendants have no part of the process and no say who sits on a grand jury. Grand juries see what the prosecutor shows them, and nothing else.

That incidentally is how it should be- you don't really want to tip off a criminal that he is being investigated.

Voire dire is how petit juries are selected for trials.
