If, for once, the Republican Party would sponsor a Tax Reform package that imposed identical obligations upon all citizens, they could then begin their long journey back towards regaining their former state as the Grand Old Party - the Party of the Common American... a state they abandoned in the early 20th, when they sold-out to the Corporatists.

Given a combination of conservatism, fairness, vision, ideals, care for the Common Man, morals, decency and common sense, they could take it all, for a generation or more.

Unfortunately, they do not have enough courage to begin that journey... their political leaders being "hogs and piglets slopping at the trough" for all they can stuff down their gullets.
