In medicine, studies have shown that certain blood pressure medicines are more effective as a first line treatment for hypertension in African Americans, while other medicines are more effective in other races.

But I have not found any studies have determined whether or not these differences are RACIAL differences or ETHNIC differences.

An African American, whose ancestors arrived here 300 years ago, may have significantly different physiology from a black refugee from Sudan and slid in just before the lock. Or maybe their physiology may be the same based on their race.

Interesting dilemma...

In my opinion the term refers to ethnicity. And just like the examples you whined about me not citing I find the term devisive to the very point of being an American. And there in lies the real point. Too many people are content with the way we let our government DIVIDE US. We are all Americans.
When I am asked in a survey what color I am I ALWAYS reply American because any other answer serves no other purpose than to divide us along superfluous lines.
