Why do so many cheerleaders and popular girls become nurses?

Nothing wrong with that but why can't the nerdy girl be kind, compassionate, and comforting?

Change the last word in your thread title to "pregnant", and it's like I'm in high school all over again.

Why is it only girls become nurses?

Bring on the male nurses!

The cheerleaders are looking for a doctor = $$$ cash pay out

(disclaimer - I was a cheerleader that did not become a nurse but I do work in the healthcare field)

Being popular means having a talent for human empathy, or at the least very good at faking it. We elected our cheerleaders from Jr. High on; the Drill Team is where they went if they didn't get elected cheerleader. Despite the conventional wisdom it isn't always the 'best looking' who get elected, at least not where I went to school. It's about personality more than looks around here. The party girls' do tend to get elected more, for obvious reasons; they know the most people and get along with more as well.

Who cares? I prefer a cute nurse, but, the only 2 I remember who were cute didn't have a sense of humor worth a flip.
