Why does "quality of life" mean nothing to Republicans?

Republicans so caring about the fetus, so unconcerned with the child. Why is that? What causes them to lose interest at birth? How come they don't care about the elderly? What made them stop caring about families in need? After all, they insist they are full of "family values".
