Stupid question. We have the technology to greatly reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies that occur. For birth-control failures and medical mishaps? Yes, abortion should remain available.

But there never has been a good explanation for limiting the availability of technology designed to eliminate the occurrence of unwanted pregnancy in the first place. Every person should have a thorough knowledge of this technology and access to it.

Yet some people want ignorance to reign and then bitch about abortion.Other countries handle this problem in a much more mature manner. Yet the U.S. government has squandered billions on "abstinence education" to tell children that sex makes them dirty like chewed gum on the floor.
