Get used to it. They have little political clout, outside of scaring any moderate Republicans who may have tough races in 2018 with this kind of thing. And they have the media to keep stories alive for them. This is their play, period. 2018.

Most of the claims the Democrats are making are ridiculous, but if they go unanswered, they may sway public opinion and if public opinion shifts, that may make some members of Congress who will be up for election in two years, including some Republicans, sway in their commitment to change. We already see that happening with respect to replacing Obamacare. The Democrats have spread so much fear about what will come after Obamacare that some people who had previously wanted to see it replaced are now frightened about whether they will lose their healthcare if it is replaced. It is important to keep public opinion in support of what the President wants to do in order to keep support in Congress firmly in support of it.
