The personal attacks are proportionally out of balance, what one would expect with a VP entering the presidential race. We did see it with way back with Geraldine Ferraro on the ticket as VP. We did see it with Hillary Clinton ... ( I don't remember seeing such vile attacks on a Rightwing Conservative Woman -- Elizabeth Dole, but...)
Clinton has enjoyed high approval ratings for her job as Senator within New York, reaching an all-time high of 72 to 74 percent approving (including half of Republicans) over 23 to 24 percent disapproving in December 2006, before her presidential campaign became active;[86][87] by August 2007, after a half year of campaigning, it was still 64 percent over 34 percent.[ US Senate career of Hillary Clinton - Wikipedia

For some broader context we have seen: Headlines and stories concerning a Woman of color who went after Mr. Trump and beat him in a court of law and in the court of public opinion: She won reelection. But the personal attacks were and still are viscous.

Who is Fani Willis, the prosecutor taking on Donald Trump in Georgia?

I guess the pattern is difficult to ignore.

Then there were the renewed attacks on former First Lady Michelle Obama after the media played this one:

Only Michelle Obama bests Trump as an alternative to Biden in 2024

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll finds that about one-third of Democrats say Biden should drop out of the presidential race after the debate
