Why Trump cited WWII history

sure, it helped emphasize the bond we have with Australia

But it also helps establish him as a student of history

After the Jackson / Civil War story, it was a good move

Plus, it gives the media types something to do - "fact checking"

So you're high fiving yourself because Trump managed to get through a whole meeting without making shit up and telling everyone about it?
He managed to stay on script- that is always considered an unexpected win.

You mean like you need to pass the bill to find out what is in it?

See the far left drone trolls just continue marching on command as they are ordered to and post irony impaired comments!
Of half a dozen GOP representatives asked today, none had read the bill. I doubt any of them read it.

At least Trump didn't insult Turnbull as he did Merkel.
Remember he hung up on Turnbull. Today, he told him that Australia has better healthcare than we do.

Yep- Trump just said that Australia's single payer system is better than America health system.

Think Trump realized that when he said it?
It isn't dufficult to have a system better than this fucked in up Obamacare pile of shit. It's the worst of two systems combined

Well we agree on one thing- a single payer system like Australia's would be better than our health insurance system.

Of course the ACA was better than what we had before- some 24,000,000 people are now insured in America because of the ACA.

Republicans are hoping to lower that number.

And of course- make sure millionaires save billions of dollars.

Pretty much everything that the GOP whiners lied about when it came to passing the ACA- the GOP actually did do with this bill.
  • The GOP lied and complained that the ACA was rushed through Congress- in reality Congress debated it for almost a year.
  • The GOP lied and complained that there was no effort to make the ACA bipartisan- in reality Democrats repeatedly worked with the GOP but the GOP refused to participate- the GOP never even tried to get bipartisan support for their bill.
  • The GOP complained that Americans were against the ACA- but ignored that Americans were against this bill.
  • Now of course the GOP has lied to Americans that they were going to keep the protection for people with pre-existing conditions- a provision that was supported even by those who otherwise objected to the ACA.
But- the GOP did manage to accomplish their two main goals
  • Say they voted to repeal the ACA and
  • Lowered taxes for millionaires.
