Fast-forward to now, and Biden is the national nightmare, lawfare included.
 
It was a preemptive pardon to insure that he would not face any further investigations into his removal. No one wanted any more discussion, he was removed and that was to be the end and all of it. The real question is why was he removed and by whom, that little break in just didn't make any sense at all.

What Nixon was doing was all about getting reelected. Which wasn't a part of Presidential duties.
