Why would Disney construct a manmade beach, where gators roam, for kids

The parents should have their ass kicked?

What kind of parent lets a 2 year old swim- wade in a lake, at night, in gator country?

Betcha their liberal progressives

Lads,

This was an accident...
Could it have been avoided, yes, probably...
Who's at fault, hard to tell...

So why the fuck have we got morons on here saying the kid died because his parents are stupid liberals...
You don't know which way they vote...

This a tragedy and the parents or Disney didn't want this to happen, What you said was shameful...

Thoughts goto there parents, they should not bury there children.

Walking along beached should be BANNED now!!! lol I love how the OP is mocking the control freak liberal's attempt to ban and control everything down to how much toilet paper we wipe our ass with.

Lads,

Don't let any travesty go to waste...

Tomorrow it is going to rain and that is Obama's fault....

Yet the first reference to the exalted one in this thread ... was by you ...

You're trying to hard, Skippy

I am quite sure they are not going to bury the child there.

Dear defcon4 I think what CowboyTed was saying
was no parents should have to bury THEIR children.
Very sad. And just because of the bad timing,
the media and comments back and forth are politically charged.

It's time to ban alligators.

Guess the (cough) parents didn't know what the sign saying: "NO SWIMMING" meant.
Too bad for the two year old but I suspect the kid was going to be left in the fucking car with the windows rolled up in 120F weather while the parents went to the casino eventually anyway.
Oh well. The mother can always 'drop' another one.

ABC reported last night that 5 alligators were removed from the lake after the incident. And they have historically removed alligators routinely ever since the fake lake was built on the property of the fake park and fake princess's castle. So why they ever had reptilian carnivores roaming on the property in the first place is a mystery to me.

I want to see a photo of the parents.

I would not have known that alligators could grab a kid walking past a lake,
but I happen to live in Houston where pets get snatched off their leashes at a local campus,
and pet owners had to be warned not to walk their pets too close to the water.

libs dont mind if babies get their brains sucked out by vacuums a million per year.

And right wing idiots don't care about what happens to them after they are born.

NoTeaPartyPleez
Do you have to pay for health care for people in China
to show you care about their health?

If what you said made any sense I might consider answering.

Dear NoTeaPartyPleez
You were implying that "right wing idiots" don't care
about children after they are born. I was saying you
can care about children without agreeing to pay and
take care of them instead of their parents taking responsiblity.

You don't have to believe in GOVT taking care of people
in order to show you care. Charities and other programs
often manage social services better than govt that gets bureaucratic and bogged down in regulations.

Swimming isn't the issue.

If you have stayed at a Disney Resort that is right there on the 7 Seas Lagoon and ever walked the cement walkway around it you have probably seen alligators down by the water, some partially or completely out of the water sunning themselves. They are not all blocked off by walls or fences.

I have never seen any act aggressively, always running back into the water or swimming away when approached, but then again I am an adult. I have never seen small children near them. I have never really seen any obvious, highlighted, glaring signs, either, warning people about them...not that I can remember.

Disney is going to be in for a massive law suit, I am afraid, even though the parents must shoulder some of the blame for what has happened.

I expect now that walls / fences will probably be erected, extremely visible warning signs will be placed around, and Disney may even make an effort to remove all alligators from their lagoons / waters around lodging.

Unfortunately, if you think about it, this - an alligator attack - was bound to happen. Alligators in bodies of water right next to Disney lodging, not blocked by fences? Either some idiot was going to try to 'feed' (or God forbid 'wrassle') an alligator or a child was going to get too close....sadly it was the child.

I agree. Since everything is fake anyway, they should have just put a few of these in the water. It is quite cheap on eBay or Amazon.

You can bet. I am sure the ambulance chasers are already duking it out among themselves who is going to get the case.

The kid wasn't swimming, he was wading. Alligators can snatch prey on land in case you missed the last couple of episodes of wild kingdom. Dusk is a really bad time for a bite sized human to be standing in alligator infested water. The kid's father should have known it and the Disney resort people are liable.
