Why would Disney construct a manmade beach, where gators roam, for kids

I'd say build a fence, but those crafty gators will still find a way.

to play on? And is Florida going to allow this practice to continue, and most of all are Democrats filibustering to ban kids on beaches? After fatal attack, Florida theme parks weigh alligator warnings

So Florida theme parks are weighing posting alligator warnings.................WHATTTTTTTTTT

This is literally the plot of Jaws word for word, minus the shark plus a gator.

It's sickening, Disney ought to be leveled.
What are you, a communist?

It's a free country. What kind of fucking moron goes wading in a gator-infested lake? I lived in Florida for 11 years. Wherever there is a body of water, and the water table is about a foot underground, there will be gators.

These people lived in Nebraska and paid umpteen thousands of dollars to stay at that hotel and have a beach for their son to play on.

Disney must be moved, or no kids under 16 should be let in............................

Hell no, we've already paid for our tickets and on property resort for our December vacation.

Great. You're funding the outsourcing of American jobs. How do you live with yourself?

It's our annual contribution to the global initiative.

Nebraska. Ahhhh, that explains it.

In light of this tragedy it is clear that we must pass highly restrictive gator control laws. Some people may say that the gators will not comply, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try it.

what kind of moron would let their kids swim in this water?

Gross.

Like most things Disney, it's not a real beach, it's a theatrical prop...a place for weddings, gatherings, etc., to be held on the stereotypical sand, but not for swimming.

I mean, that resort has like 3 pools, including one that's a freshwater beach with crystal clear water. Why would the parents choose this body of water over the one that was constructed for the express purpose of swimming?

The family that lost the child is from Nebraska.

Besides that, they build this beautiful beach and lake and then put up a sign that says no swimming. WTF.

You can just hear the plaintiffs lawyers now:
Disney knew there were alligators in that lake.
Disney admits that they remove these alligators frequently, especially after they grow over 4 feet long.
Disney did not put up signs warning that there are live alligators in the lake.
Disney is going to pay out their magic kingdom ass. And then ticket prices are going to soar.

More laws is always the best answer! (kidding!)

Is this really a joking matter?

I must say....living in the South anywhere below Columbia or Atlanta...especially Coastal SC, GA, FL and the Gulf....you cannot avoid gators.

EVERY body of water has or eventually will have a gator. Swimming pools. Lakes. You name it....Gators will be there.

IT'S a joke in Charleston when people say a lake or pond "doesn't have gators". Yes. It does. Or has. Or will.
In Wilmington,NC you can look over the railing on the USS North Carolina and in the water around the ship a few gators are always swimming.

Jump in and grab one, you'll soon have some nice boots ;)

Spoken like someone who has never been south of the Mason-Dixon line and makes light of the death of a child.

You really think if there was a sign that said "beware of alligators" that that family would have let their little boy wade into the water?

The OP is a joking matter as is any fucking moron who wants to abolish Disneyland or any other American business because of a tragic accident by local wild life.

Disney World is for people who can't afford Europe and real castles

The poor people were apparently from Nebraska. What the hell would they be expected to know about alligators? How about a sign that indicated that bite sized humans who wade in the water after sundown would most likely end up as alligator food. How negligent can you get? Disney resorts that contain gators should be closed. How did this turn into a political issue anyway? "Never let a crisis (tragedy) go to waste" if you can blame it on the GOP?
