It seems that the Democrats have painted themselves into a corner with an unpopular President and less popular Vice President to succeed him. Is Michelle Obama the only other person they could nominate to avoid offending their Black/female constituency? Would she accept?

No. Absolutely not. She would not enter the race if polls showed her getting over 500 electoral votes. She wants nothing to do with being president and half the country attacking her every minute of every day.
