This makes sense.......if you plan on killing your self or someone else......you can afford to be patient....but to just hassle peaceful, law abiding gun owners, many of whom already own guns and could kill themselves if they wanted or shoot someone else already.......is just dumb....

Waiting periods are just dumb, feel good, do nothing crap from the anti gunners who will throw out anything they can to inconvenience the people they hate....law abiding citizens who want or need to have a gun...

waiting periods are just a sop to the liberals. Oppressors are not overcome by appeasement. They must be staunchly opposed at every turn that their evil minds try to take.

Instead of the typical approach to fight crime which results in ahrassing only the law-abiding people, we outta start punishing criminals in the first place. Make prisons much more miserable, keep violent offenders in for the full setence with none of this ridiculous time off for good behaviour crap (blew that commiting the original crime,) and expanding what earns the death penalty.

If commiting a crime doesn't result in anything that makes you wet your pants, there's no real disincentive. And any law which applies to the whole of society might look fair, but if it's inconveniencing law-abidding citizens while doing nothing against criminals (who can get a weapon with little to no fuss, whereas lawful citizens face regulations that'd make the EPA drool in envy) then the whole of law enforcement and legislation is ineffectual.
