Donald Trump's insistence that President Obama ordered his telephone tapped has nothing to do with his predecessor's legacy.Obama ruined his own legacy
The people who read nutty posts on USMessageBoard know how to take them but when a United State's president daily makes the sort of outrageous allegations as Donald Trump does in statements and tweets the whole tone of political debate is coarsened and read more like the posts of the people I have on my 'ignore' list. The problem for Trump's credibility is that his statements and tweets cannot be ignored because they have repercussions.
We know it is an element of a narcissistic personality disorder that contradictions and corrections cannot be tolerated and for this reason Donald Trump was able to one-by-one obliterate his Republican rivals for the GOP presidential nomination. This had the effect of emasculating the Republicans and some of those who came in for Trump's blistering insults are now his defenders in Congress such as John McCain and Mark Rubio.
Trump has also gone after the media and now he is surprised when newspapers and TV reporters do not give him friendly support (except Fox News).
But most troublesome is how Trump badmouths the intelligence organizations because this can have the effect of endangering all of us. I read in THE TIMES today that Donald Trump signaled a new rift with intelligence chiefs yesterday when he refused to accept guarantees that President Obama had not tapped his phone. "The head of the FBI fought privately over the weekend to force a government rebuttal of the US president's claim that Trump Tower had been the target of secret government surveillance. He was unsuccessful." (page 1)
Think of the most outlandish, President Obama-obsessed member of USMessageBoard. Tripple it. Now you have Trump. What a chaotic mess he has created in such a short time.
