Women need birth control because "they can't control their libido"

So if birth control is a die hard guarantee that women won't have unexpected babies...why are there more unexpected babies now than there were in the days before birth control was available?

In other words, your argument sucks.

He says that because he can't read. None of them can.

I don't care if a woman needs birth control, or just wants birth control. However, SHE can PAY for her own birth control. No one else.

Free with insurance.

The men need to stop having Viagra covered by insurance.
Insurance is not free. I don't have viagra covered on My insurance, nor do I want it.

I pay for medications out of pocket, I never use My insurance for it.

One last time. If you want or need birth control, pay for it yourself. I don't care how you pay for it, as long as I AM NOT paying for it.

Are you saying your insurance covers your medications, but you don't use your insurance to pay for it?

idk, if we're killing like a million babies a year this birth control stuff can't be too effective. either that or people are using it wrong. :eusa_whistle:

Which is of course his prerogative - /shrug

I just find it passing strange.

What is it with Republicans and birth control?

It has been 50 years and they still can't figure it out?

Birth control is not about women not being able to control their libido. It is not about women being sluts

It is about responsible parenthood. Something republicans should be in favor of

Then they should be responsible and pay for it themselves. Nearly everyone knows that it's not that expensive.

But progressives are nothing, if not for being the cheapest of cheapskates.

Why?

We are talking about insurance. Why shouldnt insurance pay for birth control?

It is cheaper than unwanted pregnancy. cheaper than paying for additional children

Why are Republucans so afraid of responsible parenthood?

They have control issues, methinks.

For the same reason that auto insurance shouldn't pay for oil changes.

That oil changes are cheaper than a new engine is self-evident. If you're too much of a cheapskate to get oil changes, it's not the fault of those who do that you roach out your engine.

Quit being such a tightwad.

Birth control is cheaper for insurance than paying for a pregnancy.
it is cheaper than paying for a delivery

And guess what conservatIves? If a woman uses birth control.......She doesn't need an abortion

but go on.....women who use birth control, are sex maniacs and dare I say it?

Sluts
Yeah, you already said that.

The question isn't which is cheaper than which, but who should be paying for the consequences of the action or inaction.

Progressives like you liked to use the mandatory auto insurance laws to make your case for mandatory medical insurance, so it's only natural that the the context gets turned around on you.

If you are too much of a tightwad to pay for routine maintenance (oil changes or birth control) then you have no business shirking off the costs for your cheapness (pregnancy or a destroyed motor) onto the insurance pool of responsible policy holders.

Sorry it sucks so bad to have your model turned around on you, but there it is.

Actually, you need to substantiate your claim. Otherwise your argument sucks.

And you have gutlessness issues.

Join in the discussion or STHU.

Says the woman who thinks women should have control over who lives, and who dies, in utero.

Apples and oranges.

One causes an erection and nothing else (as far as I know). Contraceptives are hormones and have dual effects; contraceptive and therapeutic; not therapeutic alone.
So what?

Pay for both by yourselves, you cheapskates!

You pay for your drug plan through your insurance premiums.

The reason viagra isn't on the list of meds covered is that there isn't a therapeutic use for it that is widely recognized. The reason contraceptives (some) should be on is because there is a therapeutic use.

I, personally, believe that happiness that men gain through erections (use your imagination) is therapeutic and should be on drug plans myself.

And market forces ought to be determining whether it's worth it for insurance companies to include BC coverage.

Gracious but that's a ridiculous idea.

Why?
1) Because she's a cheapskate.

2) Because she believes that insurance -that which should be for the unforeseen- should be paying for the mundane expenses of living.

3) Because she is economically illiterate and really believes in the free lunch.

Watch as every one of her rationalizations boil down to those three points.

Crap.

Pay for your own medications and the prices will come down.

The best recent example of that is Claritin: When it was prescription and covered by insurance plans, it was expensive. When it went OTC, the price plummeted.

Object lesson. Wake the hell up.

And you think paying for your own medications is going to cause them to be switched to OTC?

Insurance doesn't pay for OTC.

It's the insurance moochers and the pharm companies that don't want relatively safe medications like Caritin made OTC. One gets the freebie and the other gets the jacked-up price.

Wake....the.....hell....up.
