Worst start of any Presidency in history- a disaster without precedent

After the collapse of Trumpcare last week, several historians and pundits have weighed in to ponder whether Donald Trump has had the worst start to any presidency in history.

For former CBS News anchor Dan Rather, the answer is obvious: Yes, he has.

In a new Facebook post, Rather made the case that Trump’s first two months have been a disaster without precedent, as he has faced both significant legal and legislative defeats, and has also been dogged by constant scandals and controversies.

“We’re roughly two months into the Trump Presidency, and it is the worst start to a time in office I have ever seen,” he wrote. “I am not alone in this conclusion. Many Presidential scholars are saying it’s the worst start of any Presidency in the history of the country.”

Rather went on to recap Trump’s “two tumultuous, chaotic and in many ways outrageous months” as president, which have included “an embarrassing defeat on ACA repeal, the deepening Russia probe, [and] the striking down of the travel ban.
Puts MSM on notice - puts his predecessor on notice - puts the illegals here and those about to come here on notice - puts NATO on notice - puts world "leaders" such as Merkel and Kim on notice - puts radical Islamic terrorists on notice ........ not flawless for sure but the start to an administration that I'm quite proud of none the less...

What's he gonna do if NATO members don't "pay up" ? If the lame-o Carrier deal is any indication, our demand that Germany increase defense spending will be met with a huge million dollar pay out from the US to Germany . .
pull out of that Globalist BS organization and let the money sucking countries continue on their quest for a one world utopia...
Fool, the US will never leave NATO, nor should they. We are going to abandon all of our allies?

On notice for WHAT? Is called complete failure.
That their duplicitous BS will not be tacitly tolerated and that there will be push back
Push back from whom, the man cant do anything. Look at the stock market over the past week. The investors and traders now realize that Trump will never complete any of his agenda

Yup, Trump's been quite clear on leaving NATO if us and a few others are the only ones footing the bill.... ideologically Trump has a big problem with much of what NATO stands for, he doesn't want to extend the US into endeavors abroad unless it directly helps the US in the cost/benefit analysis. He also doesn't want their undue influence exerted on the US by the members of NATO... Might as well throw in the UN into the equation while we're at it.. I sure hope he pulls us out of NATO!!!!

They kind of need us, we absolutely don't need them and would (on average) do better focusing that saved money on ourselves. There are members of NATO with the same x1 vote sway that are ideologically, diametrically opposed to the tenets we hold dear....

Leaving NATO doesn't mean that bilateral, trilateral support etc. is precluded with the likes of UK, Israel, Egypt etc. etc. it's not kindergarten and leaving your 'click' means that none of the friends in the click will talk to you now.....

No, you're wrong. As bad a Trump is, there are other presidents much worse, John Quincy Adams, for example. I mean, if you're going to start saying stuff like this, you have to know about EVERY PRESIDENT. And if you don't, don't make such claims, and you clearly don't.

Dan Rather managed to show one thing with that Facebook post. He's absolutely clueless when it comes to American history!
Would you explain that?

I'm a history major, Ben. Anyone who's studied the subject understands that there have been many other administrations who were far more troubled than this one is. To make that comment Dan Rather basically announces that he's ignorant about American history.

Let's go back no further than one administration. Do you remember the difficulty that Barack Obama had in the first month naming a Cabinet? It seemed like every other week someone was dropping out because they hadn't paid their taxes or had said or done something really inappropriate. They really struggled in the early going and that wasn't because they were fighting a reluctant Congress...they were shooting themselves in the foot.

Trump has a lot on his plate. The economy is not good. Debt is out of control. The military has been weakened to a dangerous level. Terror attacks are an almost daily thing. Immigration reform wasn't tackled during Obama's two terms. The entrenched Washington establishment oppose him because he wants to take away power from them and that's both Republicans and Democrats! Even the Federal Government employees will fight him because he means to shrink government and that means taking away THEIR jobs! On top of all that...he's got to deal with a main stream media who hates his guts and will put the worst possible face on everything that he's trying to do.

That's Trump's reality.

So----- How is he doing in handling all these complicated policies first 100days? Chaos, discombobulation filed with lies and self inflicted wounds.

The economy is very good and booming monthS before the election. Unemployment at 5% the lowest ever in 8 years before Trump took over..... Stop being dishonest.

The economy is booming? Wow, you really are delusional! It's better than it was but it's been grinding along at below 3% growth for the past eight years. That's hardly a "boom".

Except for Lincoln...right? Where states were leaving the Union as he was traveling to Washington for his inauguration...right?

Proving that the progressives really have no clue as to why they had their asses handed to them in the election. And to use rather as a source is laughable on its face.

Saying that the economy is "booming" because it's not the abysmal 1% that it was for a couple quarters before that is amusing, Charwin! Did you even read your article? The author attributed much of that modest increase on massive buys of soy beans by China and caution that is only temporary! The economy is only starting to move now because business feels like they have a President who doesn't view them as the enemy and understands that making profits are what companies are SUPPOSED to do...not some evil plot to steal from the poor! Of course with the Democrats "scorched earth" policy in full force it's going to much harder for Trump to get anything done...which is all that you progressives have left! If the GOP can get the economy going again after eight long years of the "gang that couldn't shoot straight" being in the White House...then the Democrats will lose the Rust Belt for a generation.
