Worst way to spend a Saturday

Broke a heater core tjoint in the process. Only one available in town and it's a hundred bucks. A rubber hose and a plastic t for a hundred damn dollars

just curious,,what did a shop want to do the job??

my guess was 6-800,,,thats a lot ,,,

well after this one you will be an expert and charge people for the next one

My model you have to remove both the dash and the entire firebox. Can't lift it out from the top

It's done. Sadly the constant sunlight wrecked the seperate Dash cover and it shattered like ice in multiple areas so I gotta order a new one.
On the up side I HAVE HEAT again and no stink ass radiator smell lol

I remember the good ole days, when you could remove a few bolts and screws on a housing in the engine compartment to get at the heater core.

But NOOOOOOOOOO, they had to turn it into a total R&I nightmare!

That's why I keep my '85...that and no airbags....first hit, get your head knocked half off when you might still have steering to do....no thanks.
