Democrats worried about our standing in the world regarding our high incarceration rate. I see nothing wrong with having a high incarceration rate so that the rest of us can live in peace. Oh, that's right, I forgot. High incarceration rates are social injustice so the solution is to just let everyone (including this white guy) run free because we can't have blacks incarcerated at a rate higher than their population rate. Several progressives are currently for eliminating prisons.

However, it really wouldn't cost any more to incarcerate all of these people because then we wouldn't need such large police departments, courts, etc once all the bad guys were locked up. Chicago could run with just a few hundred police and the city would be safe. Letting bad guys run around loose to commit crime after crime after crime after crime is just stupid and insane.

The problem is we incarcerate people for stupid shit. This guy will end up in a cell next to some joker who is there for having a bag of pot when stopped for speeding.

Studies have already proven that to be bullshit. Most of the prisoners locked up for drugs are also there for other more serious crimes, not for a bag of pot. The only people that end up in prison for pot are those that have huge quantities likely for sale.

Very few are actually incarcerated for stupid shit. Hell, In California you can steal up to $1,000 and be right back out on the streets to get another 1K time after time after time after time.
