Nearly naked Texas State student inspired sexual assault victims received support from teachers - Houston Chronicle

I'm not sure if this was inspired by "Carry that Weight" by the NY student
protesting the rape charges getting dropped in her case.

But these students are making statements, in a way I think is empowering for them in a POSITIVE way.
It makes other people feel safe to respond openly as well. I get that!
(In contrast to the post-modern artists from the 60's-70's that were covered in my Art History class,
and the way they used art to instigate and protest social norms in ways that rebelled for the sake of rebelling, disturbed or even harassed the audience, so I didn't think that was fair).

I remember "not getting" at all what my professor was teaching about the connection with Art, religion and politics. I saw slide after slide of Performance Artists making social statements using Conceptual Art,
and I just thought it was pure lunacy.

Now, when I see this student using art, on many levels, to encourage direct
reactions and interactions from the public, I WISH the teacher had examples like this one!

I would have understood THIS! Wow!
