Yes, You're A Communist

This thread is getting so much traction because the Democrat Party IS the new American Communist Party. They haven't yet made the formal announcement and the Dem Base, well Gruber said it: they're plain dumb, so when the announcement find arrives that Dem Party IS Communist, the base will say, "yeah, we knew it, we were just playing along. Fooled ya, right?"

you don't really believe that nonsense, do you?

like i said....a knowledge of political and economic theory and actual definitions of actual words is pretty important.

people on the right seem to have trouble with those concepts.

A government centrally planning and running the economy by controlling banking, insurance and industry, is closer to:

a. free enterprise
b. communism

Right wingers are binary thinkers. Either you're with them 100% or you're a Communist.
Indeed, binary thought has polluted political discourse for quite a while now. On both ends of the spectrum.

I do wish these folks would find another hobby.

Watch, and note the consubstantial basis of both the aims of the Communist Party and the Democrat Party:

......it is ...extraordinary.....the correspondence between the aims of the communist party and the aims of the Democrats.....

1. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

2. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.

3. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

4. . Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

5. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

6. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

7. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

8. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

9. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

10. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

11. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

12. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

13. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce

Now....wouldn't an honest appraisal agree that all or almost all are clearly the aims and direction of Democrats/Liberals/Progressive leaders?

See? There she goes again. If you support universal healthcare, you're a Communist.

Which means, conversely, that to NOT be a Communist, you must be in support of at least some people not having access to healthcare.

Were you raised to be vulgar....or to do so only when you can't come up with a cogent response?

Which?

Oh, btw, since Communism throughout the world has been gradually fading away, mostly on its own,

it appears that the Right's hysterical fears of Communism WERE overblown.

If looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks, it IS a DUCK. Chattel slavery is capitalistic by every definition there is.

Yeah, but communism has never truly existed...

The facepalm.

No capitalist advocates for slavery, not one that I can think of.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson are dead now but I thought I would resurrect them just for YOU, dumbass! Can you guess why?

I am not so sure these men deserve the name "capitalist", since I am not aware of them contributing to the ideology of free trade in any intellectual way, which is what I meant. Anyway, I am not that familiar with the old American thinkers anyway, and maybe they wrote the greatest pieces on free trade and it's benefits... Let's just say you are right:

George Washington:
"He owned hundreds of slaves throughout his lifetime, but his views on slavery evolved to support abolition".
- Wiipedia

Jefferson:
"As an older man, he advocated freeing and returning slaves to Africa."
Jefferson's Views on Slavery - Poplar Forest

So there you go.

Free mareketism and lack of coercion just tend to be kind of incompatible with slavery... Unlike the soviet system with its forced labor.

Just because George and Tom changed their opinions about slavery on their death beds doesn't mean St Peter is going to forget their long life advocacy of it! I gave you a valid answer to your question. End of story….

But I can't let you get away with that low information thinking that puts your IQ near the bottom on the left side of the bell curve.
Capitalism by any other name ( free marketism?) began violently and with coercion. Here I come:

The basis for my premise that chattel slavery is a subset of capitalism wasn't something I created in a vacuum. Scholars more erudite than anyone posting here have supported that premise. But after careful consideration I have found that its the other way around. Capitalism is a subset of slavery.:

In his seminal work circa 1914, French socialist Jean Jaurès unearthed the economy of bondage in his four volume Histoire socialiste de la Révolution française . It was Jaurès who saw the the crucial nexus between slave trade profits and the growth of industries and ideologies of capitalism.

In 1938, C. L. R. James made a similar observation in his monograph, A History of Negro Revolt: "Negro Slavery seemed the very basis of American capitalism."

US Historian Sven Beckert continues to validate my premise in his book entitled empire of Cotton: A Global History.

"wealth accumulation marked by African enslavement, the expropriation of aboriginal lands, coercion and killing as means of labor control and territorial conquest, and the rise of an imperial state whose laws and policies served an emergent capitalist class. “We usually think of capitalism, at least the globalized, mass-production type that we recognize today, as emerging around 1780 with the Industrial Revolution. But war capitalism, which began to develop in the sixteenth century, came long before machines and factories.” He continues, “When we think of capitalism, we think of wage workers, yet this prior phase of capitalism was based not on free labor but on slavery. We associate industrial capitalism with contracts and markets, but early capitalism was based as often as not on violence and bodily coercion.” Beckert describes this stage as an “important but often unrecognized phase in the development of capitalism” whose history has been erase by those “craving a nobler, cleaner” account."

Beckert emphasizes the role of slavery in the rise of capitalism. While slavery is not capitalism, per se, it has played an integral part in the evolution of capitalism. I had it wrong. Capitalism is a subset of chattel slavery, not the other way around. But that still doesn't change my basic premise all that much. And you will always be a megalomaniacal idiot!

220px-Pyramid_of_Capitalist_System.jpg

Capitalism is a subset of slavery? Before taking the IQ test, perhaps mental evaluation is in order.

Did you somewhere in your analysis forget that words have actual meanings?

Anyway, this is the history of capitalism. The history of a complete success... which before nothing seemed to succeed at all.

Here is a hint to you as to when the economy started to turn into more freedom oriented:

worldgdpregion_3.gif

worldgdp10000_2003_2.gif

And just because there was some coercion somewhere STILL doesn't have anything to do with the ideals of capitalism. Capitalism is a voluntarist ideology, how many times does this have to be stated?

I have a life beyond USMB so I am not going to respond as often and as quickly as I might like. I think the points I made have been supported by links and excerpts from people with IQs far higher than yours. I am the just messenger so attacking my cognitive ability has no merit at all. I guess your guru, Trump, has you thinking that is a good way to defect when you are clueless.

Also, using graphs from who knows where to make a ridiculous elementary point isn't going to help make your case. I don't dispute the data as shown but I don't know how accurate it is either. Still, the illustrations show nothing about the dynamics that caused the precipitous increase in per capita wealth. But even though per capita GDP is the barometer you chose to measure the gradual rise of capitalistic success, it doesn't show the distribution of wealth. We know today that most of that wealth is accumulated in the hands of a small number of people.

The OXFAM illustration makes a better statement of wealth distribution than your world GDP graph does and makes the words of Juares and Beckert ring true.
