You Know Things Are Changing When

Not anymore. They support government surpressing religious freedom all the time.
ACLU supported public accommodation laws since they originated in the 60s. This isn’t anything different than decades past.

A contracted point of sale service isn't a PA. I have no issue with actual PA's, but this situation isn't one of them.

Plus, PA's don't automatically win this, it has to be balanced against a person's right to free exercise.

Nope. The same ACLU even defended the free speech rights of the goddamn Nazis.

The ACLU are pretty consistent on being free speech advocates and 1st Amendment absolutists.
Of course they defended the rights of 'Nazis' (a totally invented, meaningless word)

Communists and National Socialists are 1st Cousins. They were Allies during the first 2 years of WWII. The fuel in the Panzers running through Paris was Russian gasoline.

Stop getting your history from Late Night TV

I don’t. Your presumptuous is duly noted and you are hereby condemned.

Well. Maybe not condemned. But you should learn to think before you post and then post using facts instead of speculation.

FWIW: I have repeatedly noted on this very Board that “Nazi” is not a right wing ideology. It is a left wing ideology.

“Nazi” is also not a “made up” word. But that’s a different matter.

And my point was that — regardless of popular opinion AND regardless of political ideology — the ACLU almost universally defends what it sees as “freedom of speech.”

Another 'Friendly Fire' incident by me? Sorry 'bout that.

You're splitting nonexistent hairs. If a black person was refused a wedding cake on a religious basis, they’d be in trouble as well.

People tried claiming free exercise exceptions before and has failed.

A left wing judge fined Trump five grand for defending himself in the media. Welcome to the Banana Republic.
The judge fined his ass for trying to weaponize his weak-minded followers into attacking members of the court.

Actually, ACLU has always been there for our rights. When Rush Limbaugh got into trouble because of his pill-popping problems, it was the ACLU that came to his support.

This, even though Limbaugh throughout his career would deride the ACLU. Needless to say, after this incident, Limbaugh stopped berating the ACLU.

So, to the point - ACLU has always stood up for our rights. You idiots on the right get outraged when the same ACLU supports the rights of Blacks or gays but are thrilled when they come to your support.
Hardly, the early ACLU was all about creating havoc by pitting groups against each other. Their goals were not for our rights, but the exploitation of the system, particularly in an attempt to change or alter social norms. They were the backbone of cultural Marxism.

Race and sexual orientation aren't the same thing, despite attempts to the contrary.

Where in Christianity is racism approved of?

Not technically Christian but -- Yeah, it's Old Testament Christian. Sort of.......

May God extend Japheth’s territory; / may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, / and may Canaan [Ham’s son] be the slave of Japheth”

Christians have used the Bible to support racism for centuries. Its not a religious debate since you’re not allowed to tell them what their religion does or doesn’t say.

Sexual orientation isn’t any different than race, gender or religion. All things that are protected.

The point is the ACLU is consistent. Conservatives aren’t.

Show your work. Be more specific. Separate opinion from documented fact

I give it a D-

Those points were tenuous at best. The bible is pretty clear homosexuality is sinful.

Free exercise is free exercise, and sorry, but some couple having to find another baker isn't worth forcing said baker to work against their wishes in this specific case. Note the baker in question doesn't deny anyone non custom items or point of sale items.

The ACLU has abandoned religions except Islam.
