The Republicans would probably approve whatever cuts the Dims are willing to make. Of course, we know that won't happen because the Dims aren't willing to cut anything.
They are in fact cuts. Do nothing and spending increases organically. Population and inflation, alone, get us near 3 percent annual increases.
So cutting back spending designed to keep pace with a growing need is indeed a cut. The need will be less served, and not level or slightly increased, even if spending is higher, nominally.
