You Taught The GOP A Lesson: You Want Higher Taxes So They Will Grant Your Wish

Be proud of what you did. You taught the GOP that you don't want low taxes. You don't care if the Democrats raise your taxes and spend it faster than they can steal it from you. So I figure they're out to give you what you wanted.

How does it feel to teach those Republicans a lesson?

If you really think the GOP is going to be stupid enough to raise taxes on the middle class because the rich will be finally paying their fair share, you're delusional.
Yes. He's delusional.

If taxes go up on the middle class they will only be there for a week or 2. Democrats will introduce a new bill for a middle-class tax cut, daring the Republicans to oppose it.

Were back to Obama as a Jedi master, playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He has all the leverage. There is nothing the Republicans can do in this lame duck session to come out as the winner.

so the GOP is basically saying we wont tell you what we want to cut, we're waiting for your plan. and when your plan comes out its wrong regardless but its not our plan? but we dont know what our plan is, but yours is still wrong?

only the GOP can understand that logic.

No, that's the Democrat plan. Thanks for posting it.

The Republicans would probably approve whatever cuts the Dims are willing to make. Of course, we know that won't happen because the Dims aren't willing to cut anything.

Quick civics lesson:

Congress appropriates funding, by law. Check the Con on that. The Executive cannot spend a dime unless appropriated by the Lege. Then the Con also instructs the Exec to report to the People what was spent, which by law the Exec must do from "time to time."

Does that help? If so, would you like me to go into greater detail?

They are in fact cuts. Do nothing and spending increases organically. Population and inflation, alone, get us near 3 percent annual increases.

Wrong, dolt. They aren't cuts. They're empty promises. A present Congress can't bind a future Congress, so any promises about cuts in the future aren't worth the paper they are written on. Furthermore, spending increases as the result of specific legislation. There's nothing "organic" about it. Those are the increases that Congress has legislated.

So cutting back spending designed to keep pace with a growing need is indeed a cut. The need will be less served, and not level or slightly increased, even if spending is higher, nominally.

A "cut" means spending less this year than you did last year. Any other definition is bullshit.

Republicans don't have to oppose jack. All they have to do is simply not approve it.

ROFL! Apparently you believe Obama can pass bills all by himself

It doesn't. Only you can edit your posts.

It merely clarifies where spending appropriations come from, which is not in Dem control. Boehner is the point guy on it. No kidding. Check www.google.com.

Nope. Promised cuts in future growth are not "real cuts." They're bullshit.

They are in fact cuts. Do nothing and spending increases organically. Population and inflation, alone, get us near 3 percent annual increases.

You mean if the Senate refuses to pass a budget, that's a spending increase? I'll agree with that. When you voted on automatic spending increases and then fail to change them, then you have voted to increase spending. However, that isn't "doing nothing."

That's like saying if you step on the gas and then you decide to "do nothing," that is, if you decide to leave your foot on the gas, then you will continue to accelerate.

So cutting back spending designed to keep pace with a growing need is indeed a cut. The need will be less served, and not level or slightly increased, even if spending is higher, nominally.

A promise to do something in the future of which you have no control over is doing nothing. It's bullshit. It's not a cut.

It's not in Republican control either, dolt. Boner can't do shit if Obama refuses to sign.

You must live in a cave if you really believe that crap. Turn off fux and get some real news. If you do, you'll learn its the other way around. You'll also learn that the American people voted for Obama because he works for us, the 98% while the R works for the 2%.

How did you rw's miss that? Both sides have been very open about it. If you're saying that Obama and the Ds have lied about taxes then you must also mean the Rs did too.

Otherwise, even you can see that if they both told the truth, they're on the same side and our taxes are about to go through the roof while the 2% will go down.

Obama cant sign anything if Boehner refuses to produce anything.

And Boehner is refusing to consider Obama's offer that has been on the table for weeks now.

Obama hasn't offered any cuts. What you call an "offer" is nothing more than an insolent demand. Boner considered it and rejected it.

Yeah, it is. The House budgets, based on recommendations by the Exec. The Senate can add some additional appropriations, but then the House needs to approve those, too.

And when it's all said and done, the Prez signs off on it. So indeed the House is the central player in crafting a budget all can agree is reasonable to our needs. And the Speaker is the go-to guy (gal previously). Perhaps you'll recall the battles royal between Ron and Tip, then Bill and Newt, now Barack and John.

Coming into focus?

Thanks for posting the Democrat propaganda on the subject. Now the reality. Both parties have to agree. The House can't do jack if Obama doesn't agree to it.

That's the reality. Any other claims are moonshine.

When basic civics and lightly touching on historical facts becomes, in your "mind," Dem propaganda, it could be time to stop drinking straight from the pitcher of koolaid.

Merely a suggestion.
