I get so tired of these USMB right wingers pointing to Detroit and making a racial issue out of it.
Detroit once had the highest per capita of any large city in the US. More than 2 million people lived there. While jobs were slowly being drained to other states, it was the devastating years from 2001 to 2008 that really put the nail in the coffin. Not only did middle class whites leave, but so did middle class blacks. From 2 million to a just reported LESS than 7000,000. A loss of two thirds.

And nationwide, millions of jobs were moved to China. The Chamber of Commerce put together seminars nationwide to teach people how to outsource to China.
Foreign companies can contribute to the Chamber of Commerces 501c(6) account, which the organization uses to fund political ads. (from the last election, we know the Chamber of Commerce gave to the GOP 10 to 1 over Democrats. Try to figure out why.)

So Republicans insist we need to end democracy in these cities because many of their policies have ruined them. That means they know how to "save" them? Just saying that sounds ludicrous. And for whites who think they are "safe"? Think again. 4 of the 10 cities targeted have white majorities.
And the worst part, the short time Republicans have been undermining democracy in Michigan, the EM program has been plagued with scandal. Managers giving themselves huge salaries. One company contracts were funneled to recently had a 26 count indictment from Justice Department. That's just the beginning.
Does anything think a bunch of white Republicans care about a bunch of poor black people? Remember "let him die"? "Feed the poor and they will breed"? And look what the GOP did in 8 years under Bush. Pretty much raped the country. Yes, and that means poor white Republicans were also slammed.
We don't solve problems in this country by taking away democracy. And we don't solve problems by blaming poor people who have been royally screwed. So Republicans please correct me. Does it say in the constitution it's OK to abolish democracy is things aren't "working out"?
