121 Murders Attributed to Illegals Released by Obama Administration

Report U.S. released thousands of immigrant felons last year - CBS News

Critics of the administration's immigration policies are pointing to data on the thousands of immigrants convicted of crimes - and then released - as evidence that there should be no further leniency toward those in the U.S. without permission.

The report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) - a group that advocates for lower levels of legal immigration - shows that 36,007 immigrants in the U.S. illegally who were convicted of crimes were freed from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, including those who had multiple convictions. Those numbers include 193 homicide convictions, 426 sexual assault convictions, 9,187 dangerous drug convictions, 16,070 drunk or drugged driving convictions and more.

The crimes detailed in the CIS report were not necessarily all committed by immigrants in the U.S. illegally. Legal permanent residents can have their green cards revoked and be taken into ICE custody for removal if they commit certain crimes of "moral turpitude" such as certain aggravated felonies. The study's author, Director of Policy Studies Jessica Vaughan, said she did not know what percentage of the 36,000 people have green cards, but estimated it was a small.

CIS says the report is based on ICE data they obtained that was prepared in response to congressional inquiries.

The data comes as Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson is undertaking a review of the nation's deportation program at the behest of President Obama. The Associated Press has reported that Johnson is considering limiting the deportation of immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally but do not have serious criminal records.

"The revelation that 36,007 criminal aliens were released from ICE custody in 2013, an average of nearly 100 per day, is shocking, and could further shake public faith in the effectiveness of current immigration enforcement policies," the CIS study concluded. "This information is sure to raise concerns that, despite professions of a focus on removal of criminal aliens, Obama administration policies frequently have allowed political considerations to trump public safety factors and, as a result, aliens with serious criminal convictions have been allowed to return to the streets instead of being removed to their home countries."

More than 100 immigrants whom the Obama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent killings, according to government data released Monday that raises more questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation.
These people, in fact, are NOT "immigrants."

1). They entered this country ILLEGALY.
2). Only LEGAL entries to this nation are IMMIGRANTS.
3). They were not born here, thus they are ALIENS.
4). These people are engaging in CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.
5). Combine the above criteria and you have "CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS."

The audacity of hope seems to have left many shit stains in its wake.

Both sides are gonna have to run against Obama. He's a sitting duck and lame duck at the sametime. ;)

One side will run against him and his record and, as they did twice before, lose.

While I'm sorry you find my comment so disturbing, but the fact of the matter is, I'm right on the money. Obamas own party is abandoning him in droves at this point in time, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Stick a fork in him. He's done.

The Washington Times? It must be legit because it's on the internet and TOTALLY not from a conservative website.

It is not a fact that his party is deserting him in droves. For the first time in a long time they did not support him in legislation. He is still hugely popular among democrats. He has been a great President and will go down in history as a great President. The last two Democratic presidents presided over the most job growth, the most GDP growth and have moved the country forward despite the backwards forces of the republicans.

Not only is his party not abandoning him, but he is more popular overall at this point of his presidency than Reagan was at his, at least according to the Washington times:
President Obama has reached Reagan-like levels of popularity in the twilight of his tenure, but analysts say his bounce can be attributed largely to the fact that he is fading into the political background as the next presidential race kicks into high gear and as Congress claims a surprising number of concrete legislative accomplishments.

Mr. Obama’s job approval rating stands at 46.4 percent, his highest mark in nearly two years, according to a recent Gallup survey. The figure puts him in the company of President Reagan, whose approval rating also hovered around 46 percent at the same point in his presidency.

Mr. Obama is far above President Bush, whose rating sunk to 35 percent during his 25th quarter in office. But Mr. Obama trails President Clinton, who held 64 percent approval ratings at this point in his term.

The Washington beltway increasingly backs up at rush hour on the Maryland side at the Georgia Ave exit causing significant delays every day. Why? Highspanic immigration, legal and otherwise. Multiple families per dwelling, multiple cars per family. They're headed into Wheaton. No new housing development in Wheaton, just a 25% increase in population there since 1990 with highspanics accounting for the 42% plurality, up from just 13% in 1990.
Not to mention that my kid couldn't find summer work locally between semesters the past three years.

So, your son's inability impress anyone enough to be hired for three years is everyone else's fault? Maybe he just comes across as not worthy of being hired.

Just collateral damage on the altar of diversity. Heros of the republic, there that makes it all better.
Yeah, I'm just waiting for the Libs to claim that the illegals aren't taking those jobs (meaning that Obama is just putting millions more people on welfare, where we can support them).

And the crime problem isn't helping, either...

Among the findings:

  • The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) estimates that immigrants (legal and illegal) comprise 20 percent of inmates in prisons and jails. The foreign-born are 15.4 percent of the nation’s adult population. However, DHS has not provided a detailed explanation of how the estimates were generated.
  • Under contract to DHS in 2004, Fentress, Inc., reviewed 8.1 million inmate records from state prison systems and 45 large county jails. They found that 22 percent of inmates were foreign-born. But the report did not cover all of the nation’s jails.
  • The 287(g) program and related efforts have found high rates of illegal alien incarceration in some communities. But it is unclear if the communities are representative of the country:
    • Maricopa County, Ariz.: 22 percent of felons are illegal aliens;
    • Lake County, Ill.: 19 percent of jail inmates are illegal aliens;
    • Collier County, Fla.: 20 to 22 percent of jail inmates and arrestees are illegal aliens;
    • Weld County, Colo.: 12.8 to 15.2 percent of those jailed are illegal aliens.

  • DHS states that it has identified 221,000 non-citizens in the nation’s jails. This equals 11 to 15 percent of the jail population. Non-citizens comprise only 8.6 percent of the nation’s total adult population.
  • The Federal Bureau of Prisons reports that 26.4 percent of inmates in federal prisons are non-U.S. citizens. Non-citizens are 8.6 percent of the nation’s adult population. However, federal prisons are not representative of prisons generally or local jails.
  • A Pew Hispanic Center study found that, of those sentenced for federal crimes in 2007, non-citizen Hispanics were 74 percent of immigration offenders, 25 percent of drug offenders, 8 percent of white collar offenders, and 6 percent of firearms offenders. Non-citizen Hispanics are 5.1 percent of the nation’s adult population. However, the report does not provide information for other crimes or for non-Hispanic immigrants.
  • Recent reports by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) and Immigration Policy Center (IPC) showing low rates of immigrant incarceration highlight the data problems in many studies. The 2000 Census data they used are not reliable.
  • An analysis of the data used in the PPIC and IPC studies by the National Research Council found that 53 percent of the time the Census Bureaus had to make an educated guess whether a prisoner was an immigrant. The studies are essentially measuring these guesses, not actual immigrant incarceration.
  • The poor quality of data used in the PPIC and IPC studies is illustrated by wild and implausible swings. It shows a 28 percent decline in incarcerated immigrants 1990 to 2000 — yet the overall immigrant population grew 59 percent. Newer Census data from 2007 show a 146 percent increase in immigrant incarceration 2000 to 2007 — yet, the overall immigrant population grew only 22 percent.
  • The Survey of Inmates in State and Federal Correctional Facilities shows that 8.1 percent of prisoners in state prisons are immigrants (legal and illegal). However, the survey excludes jails and relies on inmate self-identification, which is likely to understate the number of immigrants.
  • In 2009, 57 percent of the 76 fugitive murderers most wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were foreign-born. It is likely however that because immigrants can more readily flee to other countries, they comprise a disproportionate share of fugitives.
A) Non-Citizens does not mean illegal. B) many of those detained in those facilities are detained because they are here illegally.
Sorry, buddy.... They don't arrest people for being here illegally....

As a matter of fact, a lot of them don't even show up for their hearings when we try to deport them.....

No, they arrest them for other crimes and detain them pending deportation.
