He is highly unlikely to be awarded the prize. He has a decades long reputation for being a brutal thug and oppressive dictator. Hardly someone who warrants serious consideration for a peace prize.
Sre you just joking or did you just take too many drugs?
Most of the world knows that he is a brutal, oppressive dictator.
-He is a former KGB officer: the KGB is the epitome of brutality and totalitarianism.
-He stifles human rights in current day Russia
Vladimir Putin creating 'worst human rights climate since Soviet times' - Telegraph
-“Many of Putin's actions are regarded by the domestic opposition and foreign observers as undemocratic.[5] The 2011 Democracy Index stated that Russia was in "a long process of regression [that] culminated in a move from a hybrid to an authoritarian regime" in view of Putin's candidacy and flawed parliamentary elections,[6] and American diplomatic cables leaked by WikiLeaks allege that Russia has become a "virtual mafia state."[7][8] Some critics describe him as a dictator,[9][10][11] allegations which Putin adamantly denies.” Wiki
-“Criticism of Putin has been widespread especially over the Runet.[293] It is said that the Russian youth organisations finance a full "network" of pro-government bloggers.[294]
In the U.S. embassy cables, published by WikiLeaks in late 2010, Putin was called "alpha dog" and compared with Batman (while Dmitry Medvedev was compared with Batman's crime-fighting partner Robin). American diplomats said Putin's Russia had become "a corrupt, autocratic kleptocracy centred on the leadership of Vladimir Putin, in which officials, oligarchs and organised crime are bound together to create a "virtual mafia state."[295][296] Putin called it "slanderous".[297]
-By western commentators and the Russian opposition, Putin has been described as a dictator.[9][298] Putin biographer Masha Gessen has stated that "Putin is a dictator," comparing him to Alexander Lukashenko.[10][299] Former UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband has described Putin as a "ruthless dictator" whose "days are numbered."[11] U.S. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney called Putin "a real threat to the stability and peace of the world."[300]” Wiki
-the sincerity of Putin’s talk about democratic values and international law is hard to take seriously when back home his own government continues to throw activists in jail, threatens to close NGOs, and rubber-stamps draconian and discriminatory laws. He is also, by many, held responsible for several assassinations of Russian journalists who criticised him in print.
He's a thug and a dictator. End of.
