Man shot dead and woman repeatedly stabbed in Easter Sunday attack

A man has been shot dead and a woman stabbed several times in an Easter Sunday attack in Essex.

Police have launched a murder investigation following the shooting late on Sunday evening in Wickford.

Officers were scrambled to Cranfield Park Avenue at 9.45pm where they found the 45-year-old victim alongside a woman with multiple stab wounds.

Both were rushed to a nearby hospital but the man died from his injuries. Essex Police said the woman, 35, was in a serious but stable condition on Monday morning.

Gun crime is spreading from city to suburb, says police chief

Gun crime is spreading rapidly from city to suburb, one of Britain's most senior policemen warned yesterday.

Tarique Ghaffur, the assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said: "Guns used to be confined to London areas such as Hackney, Lambeth and Brent. Now they are spreading to suburbs such as Wandsworth and Putney."



It is a trend seen all over Britain. Nottingham, Manchester and Birmingham are notorious for shootings. Last year there were 59 recorded firearm incidents in Nottingham alone, four of them fatal.

Mr Ghaffur believes there is "an arms race going on", as ethnic groups copy the gun-use of Afro-Caribbean gangs. "Gun crime in Islington [north London] increased by 148 per cent last year," he said in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.

"It's up by 50 per cent or more in several other London boroughs. The reality is that the use of guns is ceasing to be an inner-city phenomenon. It's moving into the suburbs and the countryside."

your entire point is wrong...that their criminals don't commit more murder has nothing to do with their access to guns..since they obviously have the same, and more, guns than they had before the ban......and they are ramping up their killing....they are reaching a point where shooting and missing isn't going to cut it.......or shooting and wounding isnt' going to be enough......

Why was the West Midlands, England named the Gun Capitol of Britain for the 2nd year in a row....after all, they banned guns in 1996...

West Midlands is still the gun crime capital

The West Midlands has been named the UK’s gun crime capital for the second year running - even without including the latest shooting crimewave.

Last year the force overtook London for firearm incidents and has now retained the unwanted tag according to new official government figures.


The Office for National Statistics recorded 562 offences for the 12 months up to April 2015 - up from 540 in the previous year.

It means the West Midlands now has a gun crime rate of 20 per 100,000 people, higher than the 19 per 100,000 for the Metropolitan Police, 16 for Greater Manchester and 12 for Merseyside.

But the worrying figures does NOT include the spiralling number of shooting incidents which have brought terror to parts of the city since the summer - including three murders.

The people doing the shooting are shooting other criminals......and are doing it with guns they can't legally buy, own or carry.....and Illinois only got concealed carry a few years ago....it takes a while for criminals to get the message..

On top of that.....the left wing attack on cops...the Ferguson Effect, has crippled the Chicago police.....

Left wing attacks on police, not law abiding gun owners, is responsible for the increase in criminals shooting other criminals.
