29% Say Socialism Compatible with American Values

Yep, we all want free stuff, unfortunately some of us have some common sense.
I don't know, those Danes are among the happiest people on the planet. They must be doing something right.
Let me guess, are they happy with their tax rates?

No one likes paying taxes but it is the GOP that is focused on rates. I am satisfied if we get what I pay for and I'm going to pay for healthcare one way or another. I would prefer that the people who make decisions on what care I get are not motivated solely by profit.
I only want to pay for my health insurance, not someone else's along with mine.

Does politics seem like a more reliable motivation?

Not sure I know of anyone in politics NOT motivated by money.
In theory politics is about voters so I should have a voice. The incentive for a politician would be towards giving me more care rather than less.

Nice in theory, not so good in reality.

Better put a checkpoint at every emergency room entrance.
That's not health insurance. Try again.

But your health insurance is higher due to unpaid ER visits

Nope. That's a fallacy.
Call it insurance or call it taxes, you're paying for it.

Some, but not all. The patients are billed. Many file bankruptcy if it's a huge bill. Hospitals also receive federal funding to cover those cases, which I admit are taxpayer funding. I'd rather have the government do that than have the government run my health insurance. I want as little government interference in my health insurance as possible. We can't trust your bureaucratic friends. They lie.

Doesn't sound like a very efficient system. Unless of course you're a hospital administrator, gov't bureaucrat, or lawyer. Personally I'd rather my money went to patient care.

Nope, it is not. Hospitals charge everyone more to cover the lost money from people that cannot pay. Thus the insurance companies pay the hospitals more money on every claim and then the insurance company passes that cost onto everyone with a policy

I'm surprised the number isn't higher. I suspect half of the people living in the United States don't even know what American values are.

90% of the people in America do not know what socialism is, including every Trumpian on this forum.

Correct. From the OP's link

"The poll did not offer definitions of socialism or capitalism, terms with often fluid meanings for respondents, and the results offered some contradictory opinion."
