29% Say Socialism Compatible with American Values

Call it insurance or call it taxes, you're paying for it.
Some, but not all. The patients are billed. Many file bankruptcy if it's a huge bill. Hospitals also receive federal funding to cover those cases, which I admit are taxpayer funding. I'd rather have the government do that than have the government run my health insurance. I want as little government interference in my health insurance as possible. We can't trust your bureaucratic friends. They lie.
Doesn't sound like a very efficient system. Unless of course you're a hospital administrator, gov't bureaucrat, or lawyer. Personally I'd rather my money went to patient care.
I'd rather have my money go to my care. I'm not responsible for you. I don't see you sharing in my house payment or car payment or home and car insurance. Why should I share your health insurance payments?

I don't want to live in a country where, if their parents are poor, a child does not get needed health care.

The poor do not go without healthcare in this country.

I would prefer that the people who make decisions on what care I get are not motivated solely by profit.

Does politics seem like a more reliable motivation?

Not sure I know of anyone in politics NOT motivated by money.
In theory politics is about voters so I should have a voice. The incentive for a politician would be towards giving me more care rather than less.

Uh-huh. And you think that politician's desire for your vote is more compelling than a doctor's desire to make a living? Even 'in theory', that sounds pretty weak. And when you throw in all the other motivations that politicians on there plate - there's no way in hell I want them making decisions for my family's health care.

And I don't want to live in a country where the necessities of life are controlled by the likes of Donald Trump.

I'm no fan of polls, but it doesn't take a Rocket Surgeon to know that Socialism (Forced Redistribution of Wealth and Income) is incompatible with a society that desires, and is built upon Freedom, and Liberty.

Then move.

No. I'll fight it out.

Who do you want to make those decisions, just you and the almighty $?

See, this thinking is the problem. You want politicians to give you something for their vote. I want the politicians to get government out of my way so I can live MY life.

All societies have elements of socialism and capitalism

Neither, in the absolute, can function;
