35 Million dollar lawsuit on cop

Wait… so someone knocks on your door and you shoot him in the face?

That makes sense?

I doubt he gets 35 cents. Lucky if not counter sued on a frivolous lawsuit complaint.

Wrong.
It is illegal to shoot someone who just made an address mistake.
What if he was a 10 year old kid.
You don't shoot unless you are threatened and there is a weapon.
What is with this world that changed so that people do not seem to realize all you have to do is fire a warning shot.
It is not complicated, dangerous, or tricky in any way.
But no normal person just shoots someone.
That is sick.

Nope. Unfortunate but not against the law in many places. Charges mostly get dropped. You can sue, but showing up drunk trying to get in, with somebody else's wallet already in your pocket, probably won't fly, even on a civil suit.
In New Mexico, they sometimes drop charges on shooting a protester.
