4-year-old grabs loaded gun at family BBQ and accidentally kills wife of Tenn. Deputy

The more I read this brief explanation for what happened, the less I believe it.

Perhaps a more complete narrative will make sense, but this one clearly does not.

Who cares??

Whats the point of the thread?:coffee: Its the standard crap in here lately........a k00k far left asshole posts up a story of a gun death. Whats the inference? That nutter with 4 billion posts pops one up almost daily.

I'll tell you what the inference is. Its another "Its about time we take a stroll down Candyland!!" infrerence.

Sure, there may be accidental gun deaths, but we know for certain when Progressives disarm a population there are tens of millions of intentional gun deaths

Who is the pathetic loser who put a LOADED gun where a little boy could pick it up? What happened to parental responsibility?

Charge the parents with manslaughter - this wasn't an accident, it could have been prevented had these retards kept the gun away from their son! They are responsible for the death of this woman!

From what I read of this, the guns belonged to a police officer/sherriff's deputy. So any argument about non peace officer civillians and firearm control is kind of moot in this case.

Although the arguments about "well trained police should be the only ones armed" kind of wither away when it comes to accidents like these.

What we do know is there are a lot of stupid people in the country, like the person who left a loaded gun laying around, and the OP who posted this dumb thread..

Yes and what we also know, thanks to statistics, is how many STUPID PEOPLE also own guns.

And apparently what we also know is that at least one of them is a Sheriffs deputy.

Accidents happen ALL the time. How many killed in car accidents a year again? By drowning? Or falling? Less then 1000 a year are killed by accidental gun discharges. Usually much less.

If you are appalled by less then a 1000 killed you must be furious with cars they kill around 40000 a year.

Drowning mortality in the United States, ... [J Community Health. 2011] - PubMed - NCBI

Drowning is the 5th leading cause of accidental deaths in the Country. I don't see any threads on here demanding pools be shut down or lakes blocked off.

FASTSTATS - Accidents or Unintentional Injuries

26000 falling deaths a year.

33000 accidental poisonings.

I guess we need more laws on how where and who can have poisonous chemicals?

Less than a 1000 due to accidental firearms discharges.

There's a difference. Why did this happen?

Because of this sick fixation on guns. The guy was showing off his gun collection. Because he thinks it's cool that he has all these guns. And he wanted to impress his friend, who we can only assume is also enamored with guns.

Not too many people are dying because they drowned while being shown somebody's new swimming pool.

Over 3000 deaths to drowning a year and you know how they all happened? Less then a 1000 to guns and you are appalled? Poisoning kills how many again? Where is your thread demanding action on those poisonous chemicals in the house? Ohh that's right you have an agenda that has nothing to do with people killed at all.

4-year-old grabs loaded gun at family BBQ and accidentally kills wife of Tennessee sheriff’s deputy

NASHVILLE — Authorities say a 4-year-old boy grabbed a loaded gun at a family cookout and accidentally shot and killed the wife of a Tennessee sheriff’s deputy.

Investigators say Wilson County Deputy Daniel Fanning on Saturday was showing his weapons to a relative in a bedroom of his Lebanon home when the toddler came in and picked up a gun off the bed. Sheriff Robert Bryan says the weapon discharged, hitting 48-year-old Josephine Fanning.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The child is not related to her or her husband.

Bryan says the shooting was a terrible accident and that within seconds of Fanning placing the gun on the bed, the toddler picked it up.

The gun was not Fanning’s service weapon and the sheriff says the deputy’s weapons are normally stored in a safe.

Have to wonder why the gun was loaded when "showing it" to a relative.

But anyway, I am sure this thread was made so you can hope for more gun-grabbing legistlation. I hope every liberal politician runs on that platform.

in a world without guns we would all be safe and accidents would never happen we would all live in harmony ..we would end world hunger and develop meaningful communication with all living things both here on earth and beyond ...but nooooo you gun nuts wanna ruin it all

Guess what, we used to live in a world without any firearms, do you think it was a peacefull world back then? Do you think murder and other vile crimes didn't happen?

So, good luck banning a simple technology like gunpowder, a barrel, and a lead ball, because no one will ever be able to re-invent the technology once all guns are rounded up and melted. :cuckoo:

Your point is to ban firearms and to use any excuse to do so. It has nothing to do with how many people die due to firearms , if it did you would be demanding action on poisons drownings and other accidentals that kill MANY more people each year then firearms. Hell more people die due to Poisoning then are murdered or die accidentally from guns. And you could care less.

A cop lets a kid get hold of a gun, and that proves what, exactly? We should take guns away from cops?

If only the deputy's wife had an AR-15 she could have killed the 4 year old and saved her life.

Another example of senseless death caused by not enough guns.

She probably did, but she was a progressive who kept a trigger lock on it.

What's a few accidental gun deaths as compared to the possible loss of a constitutionally guaranteed right?

Fail. Regulate, not ban.

You can still buy tobacco, can't you?
