400 Americans

This is what I find amusing. Capitalism is the best thing since sliced bread - there's nothing it can't fix or improve. It's just that it's nowhere to be found. Certainly not in all the dirty, money making endeavors that we see in the modern world. Ok, you can go back to your fantasy now.

Capitalism is just economic freedom. To say there is nothing "capitalism" can't fix or improve is just stupid. It makes no sense. In capitalism, suppliers, customers, employers, employees, everyone is free to make their own decisions.
Yes, and the larger the corporation, the more freedom they have to make their own decisions. Even if that includes bombing the shit out of anyone who gets in their way.

Crony capitalism is a form of socialism, it has nothing to do with capitalism. Socialism is centralized economic decision making. Capitalism is distributed economic decision making. You don't know what you are talking about.
Crony capitalism can also happen within a corporation or between one corporation and another. Same mechanisms apply.
That's not crony capitalism.
What would you call it?

Within corporations - yeah probably true. Between corporations, possibly extremely profitable. 'Course everybody else loses.

If its extremely profitable then what's the issue? Corporations are supposed to make money, right?

I dont recall you ever pointing out a failure of capitalism.
See what I mean. Why don't you and Kaz find a cozy room and you can discuss the wonders of capitalism over a bottle of Courvoisier.

So you got nothing, huh. Figured.
You two really are of one mind aren't you.

He's a conservative who calls me a liberal, but I'm actually a libertarian. He's for the wars in the middle east, I'm against them. So no, we aren't of one mind. We just both realize you are wrong and don't know what you are talking about. It doesn't take much to see that.
I like to think we agree more than we disagree and can still respect each other.
Joe, OTOH, feh.

I agree, but we definitely don't agree on everything, which is what he said.

Rabbi is right, you don't know what capitalism is.

So Skippy, the Middle East is a government operation. Right there you left capitalism behind.

Crony capitalism is pure socialism. Only government can use force to pervert the marketplace, which is exactly what crony capitalism is, government perverting the marketplace.

Kind of becomes subterfuge at that point. Most corporations ostensibly have a code of ethics although oftentimes it doesn't seem like they pay very close attention to it.

The wars in the middle east have nothing to do with capitalism.
Exactly. Just like arms sales and oil sales have nothing to do with capitalism.

That's too ambiguous. Arms sales and oil sales don't define the system they are sold in. If government sells them, it's not capitalism. If they are sold in free markets than it is. You still seem confused by what is done and the system it is done in.

Yes kemosabe, capitalism good. Socialism bad.

Just curious... what do you mean by corporations bombing someone?
Under the guise of the War on Terror, the US conducted warfare in several Middle East countries.
So, you don't mean corporations - GE, GM, HP, Sony, Ford, etc - bombed someone, you mean the US and allied governments.
Do you have an example of GE, GM, HP, Sony, Ford, etc bombing someone?
No, of course they do it through their proxies these days....
Proxies like... the US and allied governments?
Yes.
Well then - your argument has nothing to stand on.
I thank you for clearing that up.

We support us making our own decisions (capitalism). JoeMarxist supports government making them for us.

Then he comes back with over and over, well, when corporations get government to make your choices for you, that's you making your choices, which is capitalism! Bam! Eat that!

Um...no... it isn't...I mean duh.

Have more wealth than half the population of the United States.

Hey Mr. Reagan, when exactly is this trickle down thing going to kick in?

Hey Mr. Bush, since the "job creators" still have the Tax Cut you gave them in 2002 and 2004, why aren't they, you know, creating more jobs?
Kinda hard to do it with all the regs obutthurt has put on small businesses.
I find it amazing how these progressive socialist Obamabots start these idiotic threads on how horrible the country is, how much money some people make and blame....Wait for it...
Reagan and Bush.....In the same instance these same people are singing praises to Obama and how great of a job HE is doing creating jobs..
Once again proving out the theory that lefties want everything both ways

And this has what to do with what?

Here's the thing. First, you have to establish a claim is true. If true, you then have to explain why what is claimed is a problem. Then, and here's the hard part, you have to recommend a solution.

Otherwise, you are wasting everyone's time.
That's too high a bar. IF that were the case every one of Hazlnut's post would be a waste of everyone's time.
Oh, wait.

Another non-response from the local troll.
Answer the question.....What is YOUR solution....
And don't go spouting off about living wage or any other lib talking points. Or that stupid crap about limiting income by government fiat.
