Boss, you are exposing yourself as one dumb ass. It was the religious leaders that stated the universe was Earth centered. And it was scientists that produced the evidence that it wasn't. Some of whom paid for producing that evidence with their lives.
AGW has a firm basis in physics, the absorption spectra of the GHGs, the experiments that began with John Tyndall's experiment in 1858. That you refuse to recognize the science is simply an indication of the depths of your ignorance.
But I can cite countless examples where actual science contradicts the prevailing consensus. Just because a lot of people believe something is true, whether they have scientific basis or not, doesn't mean they are correct. Up until a few years ago, every physics textbook in the world was incorrect. They all stated the universe as mostly comprised of atoms.... turns out, that is incorrect, even though it was "scientific" in nature.
Isaac Newton's Theory on Light and Color was panned when submitted to the Royal Academy of Science. His findings were correct but they contradicted the prevailing belief of the time.
Ignaz Semmelweis discovered that it was important for doctors to wash their hand between digging around in cadavers and operating on live patients... they thought he was crazy and had him committed! He died in the nut house and it was 20 years later they realized he was right.
Columbus had trouble obtaining funding for exploration because "popular consensus" said he would sail off the edge of the world.
AGW does not have a firm basis in physics. CO2 accounts for a miniscule amount of GHG.
