How did Israel "get away" with the attack on a U.S. warship? Israel was identified and apologized. What kind of retaliation do you suggest 49 years after the fact? LBJ was as sleazy as they get and everything was about politics. Is it possible that LBJ sacrificed those brave Sailors to take the focus off the debacle in Vietnam that he created?

It wasn't a 'warship', it was an old freighter converted into an intelligence gathering ship to avoid attracting attention to itself. It went into a war zone without the Navy alerting the Israelis it was a U.S. ship. Simple stuff, but of course everything is some evul plot designed to do something or other in some people's minds; they'll believe anything as long as it will further some retarded comprehensive narrative.

If Israel would have gone with Stalin, they would have done so in 1947-48, when Stalin allowed the Czechs to sell arms to a desperate people fighting for their lives. I doubt many Jews living at that time didn't know how Jews were treated in the Soviet republic or any other Slavic wonderland; they whitewashed their own histories of brutality and atrocities and now hide it under the Nazi bed. They were just as murderous and vile, which was a major impetus for going to Israel; many couldn't return home without being murdered by their former neighbors, and didn't want to remain in camps forever.

One of my uncles worked the border in the American Occupation Zone. He saw first hand the people fleeing the East; they were terrified. Many soldiers just pretended not to see them until the numbers got too obvious, then they would wait a while and look the other way again for a while. They would detain males who looked healthy, as they were invariably German or soldiers from some other nation allied with Germany.Many times the refugees would point them out, as they usually robbed, raped, and/or killed the weaker people. These they would just shoot rather than waste time and food on them.

So, no, they wouldn't have 'just as easily' gone with Russia as they would France or whoever they went with first, after they won their freedom from the Arab vermin.
