Probably the best is to turn the damned thing off, stow it somewhere, and pay attention to what’s going on around you.

1. Check out the secret carriers

2. Use Wi-Fi whenever you can

3. Make sure you are not paying for insurance and any extras

4. Set up data overage alerts

5. Go to a prepaid plan and check for discounts

I have one even BETTER way~~ ~~ don't use a smartphone. I don't. There is no call in the world, no person I need to talk to so bad that it can't wait until I am at home.

I just switched to a prepaid plan. Before I was paying for stuff I wasn't using.

Also, I paid just over $100 for a new smart phone that does everything I do anyway. No need to take out insurance on a $115 phone.

I cut $60/month from my phone bill.

Like many people, I no longer have a land line.
