I'm going to say this because it is true. There are a lot of violent criminals who come across the border and into America. It just makes sense that if you are wanted for a crime in your own country that you would flee to another one in order to escape prosecution. If you were someone who was doing this you wouldn't flee to a country that would just deport you back when you were found because that would be kind of pointless. You would flee to a country that won't deport you at all and that is exactly what America is to a lot of these thugs. They can come across the border to completely escape justice in their own country.
The second thing is is that this entire policy of catch and release seems unfair to the victims of crime in their own country. A rapist can't be brought to trial in his own country because he can't be found here. The worst part is is that since rapist rarely just have one victim they are probably committing similar crimes in this country.
