A better description of Shokin is that he wasnt doing his job.
That job was fighting corruption in Ukraine.
So, the EU wanted him out. But they need the help of the US to oust Shokin, so they could get someone in there who would actually do the job. It wasnt until the United States stepped in, then ukraine was motivated to get rid of Shokin. As a side note, this had absolutely zilch to do with Burisma.

Trump doesn’t have to be found “not guilty.” The prosecution has to prove that he IS guilty - and beyond a reasonable doubt.

Ans the fact is…..the only reason a misdemeanor of falsifying business records (which hasn’t been proved and is ordinarily expired anyway) was elevated to a felony is due to the claim it was committed to hide an “underlying crime.” The “underlying crime” has never been identified.

Let’s say you get caught with hiding a joint - a misdemeanor - and you have an enemy who is a powerful prosecutor. Years later, after the statute of limitations has run out, the nasty prosecutor decides he wants to ruin your life and claims you hid the joint to conceal ANOTHER crime. Doesn’t he have to say what the underlying crime? Otherwise, anyone could take expired misdemeanors and make some general claim about “another crime” never identified to elevate it to felonies.
