if they didn't actually see the body hit the ground and die, there's no proof I killed the guy!

Even if they later climb down and find him laying there dead with three knife and bullet holes in him, who can say
that someone else didn't come along and kill him? No evidence! Let's move along.

But they're right. Since there was no observers, the EVIDENCE would be to now go back and recount all the votes
