According to SELF IDENTIFY 60% of people at Minnesota Trump rally were democrats or independents

My family is from the Mesabi Iron Range west of Duluth.
Traditionally voting DFL, but leaning conservative in religion, education, family dynamics and foreign affairs.
The main reason St. Louis County votes along with the Twin Cities is the power of the unions that remain in the mining industry. This has been a depressed area that now sees a boom thanks to easing of regulations. That tradition of voting the DFL party line there is disappearing.

Hillary only won this state by 70,000 votes as most voters in the state are true independents now bailing on the DFL as it wages its hysterics. We did elect Jesse Venture as a third party governor. Who in a déjà vu way was ridiculed by the media as much as Trump is.
The governors office here has switched hands many times and now the republicans hold legislative power despite our loony liberal governor Dayton. Whose office is up for grabs next election.
Will be interesting to see which way that goes.

Trump willingness to apply tariffs and defend industries from unfair abuses by foreign nations is a big winner. I wish it didnt have to be the case, but I know all too well the games played by the socialists. Therefore, yes, Trump has no option but to fight fire with fire, industries have been stolen.

Both in the panel he was a part of before the rally and during the rally, he received loudest cheers for tariffs and confronting all abusers, including Canada and the EU.

I warned my country. You can never change the mind of arrogance, entitled establishment owners of the upper caste. They bully fellow Canadians and our system and now THEY are being confronted by a bigger dog...Donald J Trump.

I tried to do my part, now I say let the chips fall where they may. If he keeps his promises, it's a landslide in 2020 and with his direct delivery of tariffs, oddly going AGAINST some of the Establishment in his party (some never Trumpers who I imagine WANT him to back down so it will hurt him in mid-terms), and it has been a huge winner.
