Ace nails it

While the Democrats wooed the minorities and women, Trump called on all citizens for their support. This just means he is the president of all the people, not just some.

Nicely reflected in the popular vote of "the people" wasn't it.

Once we take care of the illegals voting, there won't be a discrepancy with popular vote and ec. Popular vote edging out is all you have to hold on to. Thank goodness the Constitution takes precedence.

In truth, I think that the undertone message that the progressives were promoting over the past eight years, and is evidenced by their abject terror at Trumps election is that they have invested everything into making the President King/Dictator of America.

One has only to look at the rhetoric since Trump's elections.

America is now going to be misogynist. America is now going to be racist. Trump is going to make our children hateful and teach them to be anti-abortionists. He is going to make them hate the poor and turn a blind eye to the needy.

He is going to to turn American into a holocaust nation where old people shamble, zombie like, down streets with opened cans of dog food handing from their gangrene fingers....

If their children learn these lessons, it will be because they taught it. They are already teaching their children hatred for their fellow citizens.

This is not a dictatorship. Trump and his supporters are going to learn that they still have to operate inside the Constitution and within the limited power of the President.

Sure, that must be it.

Oh my, the world is ending, huh, Darkwind? The message that came through Nov. 8th was that we need a government that works for all the people, not just subgroups. The message was also that our representatives had better start working for the country as it was intended by our Founding Fathers.

Where the Democrats put up a candidate that whose main purpose was to line her own pockets and ineffectiveness continued from the previous administration. The election told the Democrats they were not accepting the status quo and and grid lock any longer. The Republicans now have the house, senate and oval office. A new common sense approach to problems will finally take hold. Get over it Dems...you lost!

Obviously not. Society still seems to think that the President is some all powerful person who is no longer constrained by a Constitution.

It amazes Me that no one seems to remember that if you get a veto proof majority in the Congress, the President becomes moot.

That is you putting spin on shit. The message was, "We want to call the other side names and we're tired of having our voices silenced."

That was the message.

Now, if that is what you took from My reply, then we may as well end this conversation right now because;

1. I was referring to the progressive motives over the past eight years and particularly, in their absolute burning need to win the Presidency, and

2. The fact that the citizens of this country have been misserved by education in that they think the President is some kind of all powerful being.

Yeah well, it depends upon who got elected. The same folks who wanted GW restrained wanted Obama unleashed, and the same folks who where caterwauling about Obama over reaching now want Trump TO.

All of them assigned more power to the office than it has.

Perhaps the narrative should be shifted to the reality that to many people are willing to abdicate their autonomy to a single office that was originally thought to be just an administrators role.

The reality in america is that the masses are too willing to abdicate their autonomy and humanity to concentrated corporate wealth and power.

So: Can the left jettison identity politics?

I don't think so. Identity politics is the whole of leftism now. They have nothing else. They have no other brand, except for this.

Hatred is the central component of the alleged Anti-Hatred Coalition.

He is dead on here. This is what the left has become.
They had green energy, fair wages and jobs. But they thought ass-sex was a better bet.

The job of extracting their LGBT parasites will be brutal.
