Damn, every word of this is so painfully stupid. For one, the increased cases are due to poor waste management and street cleaning... i.e., LACK of "socialist" measures to ensure a cleaner city and protect public health. Second, antibiotics are completely effective against Typhus.

So, what smart people will do is, 1) stronger public programs to keep the city cleaner, and b) make the antibiotics and diagnosis more readily available.

Incentivizing the documentation of them into a special class would be way better than what we have now. It would allow for resolving pretty much any problem related to them. The illegals problem will never be fully resolved based on the circumstance of american success and central and south american strife with only a land bridge in between. When theres a will theres a way. Same goes for criminals moving fire arms and drugs. It will also not be well improved by only focusing punitive and restrictive solutions. We should accept that there is a positive inward force at the border and resolve it with a variety of tested policies and procedures, some of which include allowing it to happen to a greater degree in a controlled fashion.

The economics of it can work. If we got them all working, paying taxes, and "on the right track" in other ways it would be a boon. The second generation has been shown to be as good as any american. The right wing...the self proclaimed non-racists shouldnt have a problem with more brown people in the country, right?

I think this can work. We can control elevation to citizenship a little better, even reforming birthright citizenship to allow for this new transitional immigrant class. Citizens can be extended special benefits to encourage better economic outcomes. Vocational training should be something that is always available and economically accessible to citizens.

I'd love to see more compromise and test pilots on this. It's a waste of time and resources and is immoral to continue demonizing and scapegoating the illegals while not implementing sound solutions.
