He already had delegates dedicated to him. They can't just be switched to another candidate, that candidate (or in this case the party elite) has to convince them to back her. In essence, they hold new primary elections without the input of the voters. Delegates who supported Quid Pro Joe but not Cackles are free to switch to another candidate, which is going to make the convention interesting. I wonder how much muscle they're going to have to deploy to force Cackles to the nom.
