I think their skills sets are different.
If Obama wanted to uplift poor communities to get involved in the democratic process, he should have done so on state and local levels, not mandated from the top down which isn't the purpose of federal govt. (I would have advised Obama to run his agenda through states first as Vice President and working with Senators per state, then establishing what works on State levels first BEFORE running as President based on this experience to push solutions on a federal level second.)

Sadly, there have been plans in place for renovating public housing to be sustainable campuses to 'break the cycle of poverty with education' but these were destroyed by bad Democrat politics. www.campusplan.org
Because the Black Democrats were caught up in politics, now it's up to Ben Carson as head of HUD to possibly pick up where Democrats shot themselves in the foot, under their own watch!

Obama like Clinton was too busy playing politics for getting in positions of public visibility to worry about the *actual plans* that can work if resources are invested there instead of billion dollar campaigns to get elected. Now it's up to party member to pick up the pieces, learn what went wrong, and use this opportunity to demand that resources go into solutions that SHOULD have been funded instead (such as reforming prisons in order to afford to provide universal health care).

for TRUMP his strength is in forging business plans that can work. He is not diplomatic in terms of collective media, but he does better one-on-one.

If he can organize teams from every party to manage collectively, he can beat that media game that pigeonholes people left and right to divide and conquer and exploit conflicts instead of solving problems.

Trump is not necessarily "qualified" in terms of experience, but his natural talents in recognizing solutions can work if he appoints and surrounds himself with the right people from every party, issue and angle that govt needs to address.
